Branding & Visual Identity โ Khazafi Ceramics
Iconic monogram logo design and contemporary craft brand identity in Marrakech
Overview & Context
Khazafi is an ancestral ceramic and pottery studio in Marrakech. The mission was to develop a refined brand identity moving past conventional craft tropes to position the brand within the upscale contemporary design and architectural decor sphere.
Strategic Goal
The workshop held strong acclaim among local interior architects but lacked a distinctive visual signature to market its collections to international design boutiques and discerning decor collectors.
The Creative Challenge
Translate the raw texture of terracotta clay, the rotational momentum of the potter's wheel, and craft mastery into a minimalist mark reproducible on wet clay stamps, packaging, and digital media.
- โข Design a dual-color monogram functional as a physical clay stamping tool.
- โข Pair modern geometric typography with warm organic tactile nuances.
- โข Define a color palette inspired by Atlas mineral pigments and raw terracotta.
- โข Deliver packaging mockups, hangtags, and catalog showcase templates.
The Identity & Style System
A bespoke monogram logo constructed from two fluid contours evoking the studio's initials and the silhouette of a vessel on the wheel. Complemented by a complete brand guidelines system for all brand touchpoints.
Iconic Monogram Mark
Mathematical balance between fluid curves and architectural lines, adaptable to monochrome and warm mineral tones.
Physical Pottery Stamp
Vector stroke optimization ensuring crisp impressions on raw clay before kiln firing.
Bespoke Packaging Collateral
Recycled kraft packaging, serialized certificates of authenticity, and textured tissue wrap.
Brand Impact & Reception
The new visual brand allowed Khazafi to secure partnerships with leading concept stores across Marrakech and Casablanca, commanding premium pricing for artisanal creations.
